Livestock

Ballymena show was famously known in the past as ‘The Cattle Show’ but has a lot more to offer than the humble cow, with traditionally over 800 sheep entries and 400 poultry, 700 horses and ponies and 300 cattle. The horse committee have changed the schedule from previous years

to ensure that classes which have been well supported in the past are catered for

and therefore make best use of the site available for the most popular classes.

Classes and affilitaions (as always) will be reviewed annually.

Welcome to our Shearing Section of Ballymena Show website. Organised by NI Sheep Shearers Association as part of the NI circuit the shearing section is always very popular with the public. Thanks are extended to Lister for the loan of the equipment each year and to all the sponsors for the invaluable prize money as well as McCurdy Transport who kindly transported the sheep for shearing in 2016. Judges, Volunteers & Exhibitors make it all happen and sincere appreciation is offered to all.
